The Anglo Argentine Society was establish in 1948 to promote relations between both countrys and strengthening cultural bonds, it became a United Kingdom registered charity in 1965 and helps two Argentine charities for the periods of two years, the society is run by a committee of volunteers.
The Gran Asado Argentino is one of the most popular events in the society's calendar, and returns after two years of absence due to the covid-19 pandemic, it was hosted by Adolfo Tuñon, and presented by Chairwoman Fátima Nollén-Reardon, Minister Mariana Plaza Chargé des Affairs of the Argentine Embassy gave an speech and honore Mr Derek Gibson master asador which retires after 30 years of collaboration.
There was a raffle with prizes that included a trip to Argentina given by Steamond travel and several stands with typical Argentine products, the day ended with traditional music and dancing.
